Giovanni CASELLI
Giovanni Caselli is translator, popularizer and independent scholar. He is Fellow of the Royal Anthropological Institute of Great Britain and Ireland since 1972 and Member of the Royal Archaeological Institute of Great Britain since 1985. Lecturer on the "Archaeology of the Landscape", scholar in residence and Member of the Board at the University of Malta (1997-2001).

John T. CUMBLER
John T. Cumbler earned his Ph.D. at the University of Michigan in 1974. His fields of specialization are United States Environmental History and Economic History. The most recent of his six books is From Abolition to Rights for All (2007). In 2002 UofL recognized him with its Distinguished Teaching Award. In 2008 he was the John Adams' Distinguished Fulbright Professor in the Netherlands.

Mariagrazia D'Emilio is researcher of Institute of Methodologies for Environmental Analysis of the National Research Council of Italy. Her research mainly focuses the implementation and validation of new technologies and procedures for mesuring and monitoring soil and air pollution by using integrated biological, chemical and physical techniques. She is Member of World Environment Editorial Board.

Shen HOU Dr. Shen Hou is an associate professor in the
History Department of Renmin University (RUC), Beijing, China, and the deputy
director of the Center for Ecological History, RUC. She worked with Prof.
Donald Worster and received her Ph.D. in American history from University of
Kansas in May, 2008. Before she went to study in the U.S., she received an M.A.
in ancient Chinese history from Central China Normal University, 2001, and B.A.
in history from CCNU, 1999. After graduation, she was a postdoctoral fellow at
Tsinghua University, Beijing, from 2008 to 2010. She is currently a Carson
fellow at the Rachel Carson Center for Environment and Society, Munich. Her book, The City Natural: Garden and Forest Magazine and the Rise of American
Environmentalism, was published by University of Pittsburgh Press in 2013. Dr.
Shen Hou has published more than a dozen articles and translations on
environmental history in Chinese and English. S. Hou è professore associato presso il Dipartimento di Storia della Università Renmin di Pechino e direttore del Center for Ecological History, RUC. Ha lavorato con il prof. Donald Worster e ottenuto il dottorato in storia americana presso l'Università del Kansas. Marcus HALL
Marcus Hall is senior lecturer of environmental history at the University of Zurich. His research projects involved malaria, warfare, exotic species, conservation salvage, and environmental restoration on which he published Earth Repair (2005) and edited Restoration and History (2010).

Michael S. Liu is Associate Research Fellow at the Institute of Taiwan History, Academia Sinica. He received Ph.D degree from University of Pittsburgh in 2000 and was a visiting scholar at several universities in Japan, Us and Europe. He is awarded to Chun-chiu lectureship (Oregon State University), Erasmus Mundus Scholar and Senior Research Fellow (Ohio State University). He is author of books Prescribing Colonization (2009) and Katana and Lancet (2012). His currently research interests are environmental history, Japanese colonial medicine, and modern history of public health.

Alberto Malfitano is researcher in Contemporary History at the Department of Science of Well-being at the University of Bologna. His main research interests include environmental history, history of the Risorgimento, history of journalism.

Christopher WELLS
Christopher Wells is Associated Professor of Environmental Studies/ Environmental History at Macalester College.Professor Wells’ research and teaching focus on the ways that technology—and especially technological systems—have reshaped the American environment, mediating and structuring people’s relationships with the natural world. His book, Car Country: An Environmental History (2012), focuses on the proliferation of
car-dependent landscapes in the United States before 1956. His current projects include a co-edited volume on Minnesota’s environmental history (with George Vrtis, Carleton College), and a history of the idea of “building with nature” in American domestic architecture.

University of China. He is the deputy director of the Institute of Qing

Humanities (The Ministry of Education, 2012); the first prize for Works
on Compilation of Ancient Archives sponsored by Publishers Association of China

Humanities in Beijing and the Book Award of Distinguished Publications in
Chinese (sponsored by General Administration of Press and Publication, PRC,
